Allowed by the Ministry of Construction, 23rd June 2008, Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities (AMC) in collaboration with Italian Institute for Foreign Trade jointly organized a training course on Project finance in Construction field.

On the great occasion of College of Training and Retraining Construction Staff has been officially renamed into Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities according to Decree No 17/ND-CP issued by the Government and Decision No 468/QD-BXD dated April 02, 2008 by Minister of Construction, and the anniversary occasion of Vietnam construction industry’s 50 - year traditional day, the Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities has organised a solemn ceremony to present itself on April 27, 2008.

In the morning of  25 March 2008, Mr. Pham Xuan Dieu - director of Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities spent a half day working with Mr. Paul Schuttenbelt - Asia director of Planning and Governance under Urban Solutions, Netherlands and Mrs. Nguyen Diep Ha- senior expert of WB to discuss strengthening solutions towards training cooperation relations.

On 26th February 2008, Mr Pham Xuan Dieu, The Principal of the College met and worked with Mr Kevin Thomas- Director of International Development.

Up to now, Vietnam has established 10 typical urbanization areas with 700 small and big - sized cities. However, beside these achievements, there are still some shortcomings in  environmental management and urban planning.
